Representative Cases

1. Benchmark Technical-Secret Infringement Case

Represented listed company Fengjiang Battery in proceedings against former employees for infringement of trade secrets. In response to the recurring difficulties of proving infringement, collecting evidence, and obtaining damages in trade-secret disputes, built a complete evidentiary chain establishing the infringement. The client prevailed at first instance before the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court, and the Supreme People’s Court affirmed the judgment on final appeal. The case protected the client’s core production technology and was selected as one of the court’s Top Ten Typical Cases.

2. Internet Trademark and Unfair Competition Cases: Two Victories Against Tencent

Represented the content platform “Qiushibaike” in two trademark and unfair competition disputes involving Tencent. In the plaintiff-side action, brought claims against Tencent, the operator of UC Browser, and the operator of Shenma Search for trademark infringement and unfair competition. The court found Tencent liable and held that search-engine services could bear joint liability, moving beyond a routine application of the safe-harbor defense for network service providers. In the defense-side action, defended against Tencent’s RMB 5 million unfair competition claim, challenged the structure of the claim, and argued that well-known internet companies should bear a corresponding duty of tolerance. Tencent ultimately withdrew all claims, eliminating substantial compensation and reputational risks for the client.

3. High-Value Commercial, Construction, and Real Estate Litigation

Handled high-value corporate equity disputes, construction contracts, and real estate development disputes before provincial high courts and intermediate courts. Experienced in untangling complex, multi-layered transaction structures and developing litigation strategies early, with particular focus on equity ownership, construction-payment settlements, and breaches in cooperative development projects.

4. Government and Corporate Compliance; Ongoing Counsel

  • Provided ongoing legal counsel and administrative compliance services to government and public institutions including the Zhanjiang Municipal Government and Guangzhou Customs, supporting law-based administration.
  • Provided comprehensive legal counsel to enterprises by improving operating processes, preventing litigation risks, protecting clients’ lawful interests in contracts and commercial matters, and covering labor and personnel, operational compliance, and intellectual property, with M&A support available as a separate service.
