On June 11th, the “Intelligent Expansion Journey Session 50” – “AI Going Global | Opportunities and Risks in Canada” – was successfully held at the GTC Guangkai·Yunhui Technology and Finance Center Experience Hall. This event was organized by the Legal Committee of the Guangdong Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, and hosted by the Longan Bay Area Artificial Intelligence Law Research Center and the Longan Guangzhou Sanctions and Double Countermeasures Committee. The purpose is to help participating enterprises gain a deeper understanding of the Canadian market and explore opportunities in the development of Canada’s AI industry.

Lawyer Chen Huan, Director of the Longan Bay Area Artificial Intelligence Law Research Center; Lawyer Ou Yingshi, Partner at Longan Guangzhou and Director of the Sanctions and Double Countermeasures Committee; Lawyer Li Qiyao, researcher at the Longan Bay Area Artificial Intelligence Law Research Center; and more than 20 industry experts from fields such as artificial intelligence and law participated in this event.

At the beginning of the event, the guests visited the flagship project of Guangzhou Development Zone Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. – the GTC Guangkai·Yunhui Technology and Finance Center. Through on-site visits and experience sharing, efforts were made to promote the integration of industry resources and coordinated innovation.

The event invited Dr. Robin Shaban, a well-known Canadian economist and government policy expert, who is a partner at the strategic consulting firm 2R Strategy. Dr. Shaban analyzed in detail the current situation and trends in Canada’s AI industry, as well as relevant policies and regulations implemented by the Canadian government. This provided valuable insights and suggestions for participants to understand the Canadian market and seize opportunities in the development of AI. She also shared how to plan growth strategies for companies in Canada, identify potential partners, and address market challenges, thereby helping enterprises embark on a smart global expansion journey.

During the interactive session, the participants asked Dr. Shaban questions regarding the practical challenges they faced in planning their companies’ expansion into the AI market. From market entry barriers to localization strategies, from technical cooperation models to risk management solutions, Dr. Shaban provided professional and detailed answers. The atmosphere at the event was very lively, offering new ideas and inspiration for AI expansion into global markets.
