In the wave of digital transformation, data assets have become a key indicator of a company’s competitiveness. On June 14, the “Data Resources Inclusion in Financial Statements Practical Workshop”, guided by the Policy Research and Innovation Office of the Guangzhou Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone Working Committee of the CPC and organized by Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm in Beijing, was successfully held at Nansha Rongtong Building.

This event attracted many law firms, data assessment institutions, accounting firms, and enterprises. Departments such as the Nansha Tax Bureau and the Nansha Government and Data Bureau also participated. Dozens of attendees came from various fields including law, finance and taxation, assessment, supply chain, information technology, cloud technology, interactive entertainment technology, electronic ports, healthcare, and educational foundations. They showed unprecedented attention and enthusiasm regarding the issues related to data inclusion in financial statements.

During the thematic presentation session, Lawyer Chen Huan, Director of the Longan Bay Artificial Intelligence Law Research Center, delivered a wonderful presentation on “Data Inclusion in Financial Statements: Policies and Practical Applications”. Starting from cases handled by law firms, Lawyer Chen analyzed the policy background related to data inclusion in financial statements in depth, and shared practical knowledge that could be implemented. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts among multiple departments such as data governance, data compliance, trading platforms, and accounting processes to create a data service ecosystem. At the same time, Lawyer Chen announced plans to launch a new book on data inclusion in financial statements, aiming to contribute to “creating industry bestsellers, building industrial ecosystems, and opening a new chapter in data management”.

Guo Yuxia, a senior researcher at the Global Traceability Center of the Nansha Government Research Office, described in detail “Government-Initiated Digital Economy Public Infrastructure”. She explained the data rights and responsibilities system of the Global Traceability Center and the support provided for enterprise data compliance, highlighting the important role and specific functions of the government in promoting the development of the data economy.

Next, Lawyer Ma Qingquan, a special guest lecturer on enterprise compliance for the State Administration for Market Regulation, discussed “Data Asset Development and Compliance in State-Owned Enterprises” from the perspective of state-owned enterprises. Ms. Li Lixia, a partner at Chenganxin Accounting Firm, shared “Practical Accounting Measures for Data Inclusion in Financial Statements” from an accounting perspective. Ms. Liu Jianlan, General Manager of Guangsheng Finance and Taxation, analyzed in depth the challenges faced by supply chain enterprises in including their data in financial statements, providing valuable practical insights for the attendees. Finally, the head of the legal department of a listed company shared the challenges and difficulties related to data inclusion in financial statements for listed companies.

During the discussion session, enterprises and representatives from the Nansha Tax Bureau engaged in in-depth discussions on innovative tax policies and tax management after data resources are included in financial statements. Service institutions suggested building a full-service ecosystem based on the Global Traceability Center and expanding application scenarios.

At the end of the event, Lawyer Ye Junxi concluded: The new era of data asset inclusion in financial statements has arrived. Whether it’s traditional enterprises, emerging technology companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, or listed companies, they should seize this opportunity.
