To assist private enterprises in overcoming challenges in going global and enhancing their compliance capabilities, a special symposium titled “Establishing a Sound Modern Enterprise System to Enable Private Enterprises to Comply with Global Regulations” (Phase II) was successfully held in the Guangzhou Private Enterprise Park in Baiyun District, Guangzhou. The event was organized jointly by the Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce, Guangzhou Labor and Personnel Dispute Arbitration Institute, Guangzhou Private Enterprise Complaint Center, the Management Committee of Guangzhou Private Science Park, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Protection Center, and the Baiyun District Federation of Industry and Commerce.
Lawyer Wang Huixia, a senior partner at Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm, and Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Longan Bay ASEAN Legal Research Center, was invited to attend and share her insights. With her extensive practical experience in cross-border investment and overseas compliance, Lawyer Wang provided valuable and detailed insights that addressed the real challenges faced by enterprises when going global.
During the sharing session, Lawyer Wang Huixia began her presentation with the topic “The First Step in Going Global: Guidelines for Registration, Structure, and Policy Avoidance in the Target Country.” Drawing on her many years of experience in foreign-related legal services, she explained the key steps involved in going global, the compliance requirements for a company’s overseas structure, and the key points and channels for understanding the policies of the target country. She analyzed these aspects in a systematic manner.
Lawyer Wang pointed out that registration for going global is the “first barrier” for a company’s compliance in going global. Many companies fail to pay attention to the registration process and material requirements, resulting in delays or even hindrance to subsequent business operations. A well-designed overseas structure not only optimizes business operations but also helps to avoid potential risks related to cross-border taxation and foreign exchange management. Additionally, understanding the policies, foreign investment rules, and labor requirements of the target country are essential for avoiding mistakes. Through real cases, Lawyer Wang identified common pitfalls in the early stages of going global, providing practical guidance for companies preparing to go global.
During the interactive discussion session, representatives from participating companies asked questions related to cross-border financial compliance, obtaining policies from the target country, preparatory steps for going global, and risk prevention. Lawyer Wang listened patiently to each question and provided targeted answers based on the industry characteristics and business scenarios of each company. She not only provided clear guidance on how to understand relevant policies but also offered specific recommendations and risk avoidance strategies. The discussion was both practical and lively.
At the end of the symposium, Hu Ji Ping, a third-level researcher at the Guangzhou Private Enterprise Complaint Center, said that the Federation of Industry and Commerce continues to pay attention to the challenges faced by enterprises going global. It will provide professional assistance through practical measures to help enterprises expand their overseas markets. She also encouraged more companies to participate in future special activities related to going global. Feng Fei, the head of the enterprise service department at the Guangzhou Private Science Park Management Committee, shared the current situation of some companies in the park and discussed practical issues related to labor and employment, providing insights for future activities.
During the symposium, Lawyer Wang Huixia, with her deep legal expertise, rich practical experience, and high level of professionalism, effectively addressed the core concerns of enterprises going global. Her contributions were highly recognized and praised by the attendees, demonstrating Longan Guangzhou’s strong capabilities in foreign-related legal services.
