Ahead of the highly anticipated World Cup, the Youth Working Committee of Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm organized a themed salon titled “Passion for the World Cup: Predict and Win.” On the afternoon of June 10, colleagues gathered to share their love for football, discuss upcoming matches, and enjoy a lively team-building experience.

Taking the World Cup as an opportunity, the event featured a round-table discussion and a tournament-long match prediction game, allowing colleagues to relax and enjoy the tournament’s atmosphere. The event was hosted by Mr. Xie Xin, Senior Partner and Director of the Longan Guangzhou Youth Working Committee.

Youth Salon: Passion for the World Cup

At the beginning of the event, Mr. Xie Xin introduced the concept of the “Youth Salon” series. These informal gatherings are designed to be held periodically, focusing on current social topics and lifestyle interests rather than just professional legal subjects. Junior lawyers are encouraged to sign up, host sessions, and share their insights. This first session on the World Cup brought colleagues together in a relaxed environment to wind down from their busy casework.

During the roundtable, participants shared stories about their favorite teams and players. Experienced fans analyzed the lineups and tactical strengths of traditional powerhouse teams like Argentina, Brazil, France, and England, and predicted the performances of star players including Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappé, and Haaland. The discussion covered topics such as potential dark horses, favorite contenders, and anticipated match dynamics.

Following the discussion, the rules of the tournament prediction game were introduced. Starting from the first round of the group stage, participants will use their allocated points to predict match outcomes. After the final, the top three predictors will receive World Cup merchandise, with the champion winning an authentic player-version jersey from their chosen team. The prediction game sparked immediate interest, and the event concluded on a high note.

This World Cup‑themed gathering brought colleagues together through a shared interest in sports, enriching the firm’s cultural and social activities. Moving forward, Longan Guangzhou will continue to organize diverse, engaging team-building events that promote a healthy work-life balance and foster a supportive workplace environment.
