To advance campus rule-of-law education, strengthen legal protections for minors, prevent juvenile delinquency at its source, and safeguard minors’ healthy development, lawyer Chen Changqin, a member of the Public Interest Committee of Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm, was recently invited by the Communist Youth League of Baiyun District, Guangzhou and the Baiyun District Education Bureau to conduct a legal education session on minors’ legal responsibilities at Zhuliao Primary School.

Education Content
The session focused on key pain points in youth legal education, aiming to dispel the common misconception that minors are “too young to bear legal responsibility.” Drawing on his solid legal practice experience and the legal boundaries that young people are prone to cross during their development, lawyer Chen Changqin explained in accessible terms the legal consequences and serious repercussions of common illegal behaviors such as theft and group fights, helping students establish clear behavioral boundaries and develop a law-abiding mindset rooted in respect for legal rules.

Teaching Approach
The entire session was conducted in a warm, engaging atmosphere. Moving beyond the recitation of legal provisions, lawyer Chen tailored his approach to primary school students’ cognitive patterns, employing interactive discussions, scenario simulations, and live Q&A sessions to make complex legal concepts easy to understand and truly internalize.
Students showed tremendous enthusiasm throughout, listening attentively, actively raising their hands to participate, thinking independently, and asking questions enthusiastically, demonstrating excellent learning attitudes. In response to various questions from students, lawyer Chen patiently answered them, using accessible language to guide children in distinguishing right from wrong, consciously staying away from legal risks, and developing positive values. The session achieved remarkable results and received unanimous praise from the school.
