Recently, Wang Ying, a lawyer at Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm, was invited to Qianjin Street in Tianhe District to give a special lecture on “Guarding Against and Preventing Financial and Economic Crimes” for participants in community correction. The lecture was designed to strengthen street-level legal education and assistance, helping community correction participants understand legal boundaries, reinforce law-abiding awareness, and successfully reintegrate into society. It also reflected Longan Guangzhou’s public welfare commitment to supporting grassroots legal governance.
Drawing on the street’s data on community correction participants and their offense characteristics, Lawyer Wang selected typical cases handled by her team as teaching materials. She broke down high-frequency illegal and criminal types such as telecom fraud, illegally absorbing public deposits, fundraising fraud, and aiding information network criminal activities, clearly explaining the conviction standards for each and the legal red lines that must not be crossed.

Focusing on high-risk situations such as lending or selling phone cards and bank cards, recycling goods of unknown origin, participating in online rebate investments, and selling counterfeit branded products, Lawyer Wang clarified the boundary between crime and non-crime, and explained in detail the core judicial criteria for determining “subjective knowledge” (knowing or should have known). She also stressed that any illegal or disciplinary act during community correction could lead to serious consequences, including revocation of probation and execution of the original sentence, serving as a wake-up call for all attendees.
At the end of the lecture, an interactive Q&A session was held. Lawyer Wang patiently answered various legal questions from community correction participants and offered personalized risk prevention advice based on each individual’s circumstances and daily behavior scenarios. She encouraged everyone to develop sound views on wealth, proactively identify covert online illegal practices, and abandon any reliance on luck.
The entire lecture was closely aligned with the practical needs of grassroots street-level legal assistance, using real cases as its core to deliver highly practical and targeted content. Attendees said the course was professional, substantive, and that the typical cases served as powerful warnings. They expressed their intention to actively learn the law, abide by the law, establish correct views on wealth, and strictly observe legal boundaries in the future.

Lawyer Wang Ying has long been dedicated to grassroots public welfare legal services, providing regular and professional legal support to streets in her jurisdiction. This special legal lecture was not only a concrete step by the firm to fulfill its mission of bringing legal services to the public, but also a vivid example of lawyers taking on social responsibility and supporting grassroots legal governance.
Looking ahead, Longan Guangzhou will continue to leverage its professional legal advantages, deepen its grassroots legal assistance efforts, and regularly carry out public welfare legal education and awareness activities. Through warm and accessible legal outreach, the firm aims to strengthen the regional legal foundation and contribute to the high-quality development of safe streets and law-based communities.
