On April 21, Lawyer Wu Rangjun, Deputy Director of the Longan Guangzhou Management Committee, senior partner, and head of the Yanshang Legal Team, was invited to give a presentation and training session on “Trade Secret Protection and Compliance Management” for Lipei Technology Group. Starting with typical cases of trade secret disputes in the daily chemical industry, Lawyer Wu Rangjun helped the participants understand the basic concepts of trade secrets. Lawyer Wu pointed out that by analyzing big data from the trade secret cases in Beijing Intellectual Property Courts and Shanghai Intellectual Property Courts over the past five years, it can be seen that the success rate of plaintiffs in trade secret cases is relatively low. The big data from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate regarding trade secret criminal cases shows that the number of such cases is not very high, indicating that it is difficult to protect rights through criminal means. Therefore, pre-emptive compliance management is necessary. Through pre-emptive compliance management, on one hand, the risk of trade secret leakage can be controlled and reduced, and on the other hand, the ability to prove rights can be enhanced, improving the success rate of subsequent legal actions.
He also discussed how companies can effectively manage compliance, suggesting that companies should focus on system construction, culture development, and technical measures to ensure the management and protection of trade secrets.
