Teacher Xie Limin
Mentor from the American Heart Association (AHA), Director of the Life Chain First Aid Program
Level 5 National Emergency Responder
This training was conducted by Teacher Xie Limin, a mentor from the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Director of the Life Chain First Aid Program. The training focused on three key skills: CPR, the use of AEDs, and the Heimlich maneuver. The content was practical and focused on helping participants quickly master essential first-aid skills.
Before the training began, real videos related to various first-aid measures were shown. These videos helped participants understand the importance of mastering first-aid skills, and prepared them for the subsequent theoretical and practical training.
Teacher Xie Limin started with a video, then explained CPR. She used simple language to explain the “golden 4 minutes” principle and the standard procedure for providing first aid. She demonstrated the key steps such as ensuring safety, checking consciousness, and observing breathing. She also emphasized the importance of the 30:2 ratio between chest compressions and breathing, helping participants easily master the key techniques of CPR.
Then, Teacher Xie explained the importance of early defibrillation using data from first-aid statistics. She demonstrated how to use the new AED in the firm. She explained the entire process from turning on the device to applying the electrodes, analyzing the heart rhythm, delivering the shock, and continuing CPR. She also emphasized the correct placement of the electrodes and safety procedures, helping participants master the use of AEDs in combination with CPR.
During the Heimlich maneuver training, Teacher Xie explained the situations where this technique is used, as well as the methods for different people. She demonstrated how to use it for adults, pregnant women, and obese people. Through demonstrations and interactive exercises, participants quickly learned the techniques for different situations, improving their emergency response capabilities.
After the formal training, Teacher Xie continued to focus on AEDs and CPR. She corrected the participants’ movements and emphasized the intensity and frequency of chest compressions, as well as the correct placement of the electrodes. She answered all questions, helping participants convert theoretical knowledge into practical skills.
Through this practical training, participants realized the importance of timely first-aid. They internalized these skills and applied them in real life, improving their ability to handle emergencies.
The AEDs purchased by the firm are now located in the gym on the 45th floor of the firm.
Safety is important. Longan Guangzhou will continue to integrate first-aid education and emergency response capabilities into daily management. They will provide regular training and emergency response mechanisms, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
