In June, in Guangzhou, the fragrance of zongzi leaves and the scent of mugwort fill the air. What kind of sparks will emerge when the traditional charm of Duanwu Festival meets the sweetness of birthdays? On the afternoon of June 18th, the multi-functional meeting room of Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm in Beijing was filled with laughter and joy. The “Duanwu Festival Celebration and Birthday Party” took place here. The colleagues from Longan Guangzhou put aside their cases and left behind legal documents, spending a meaningful and warm afternoon engaged in traditional crafts and birthday blessings.
Lawyer Wang Mengying from Longan Guangzhou hosted this event. She briefly introduced the schedule of the event, highlighted the interesting aspects of the handicraft games and charitable birthday gifts, and sent warm wishes for the festival and birthdays.

The event began with a lively garden party during Duanwu. In the bamboo dragon boat craft area, the colleagues from Longan Guangzhou became craftsmen. Bamboo strips were woven together by their hands, and soon, beautiful dragon boats were created. The graffiti area for Duanwu decorations showed creativity, with colorful paints used on the decorations. Traditional elements and modern aesthetics combined to create a unique atmosphere. The “Shè Wǔdú” game added to the excitement—aiming, throwing, hitting… applause and cheers followed each time. Everyone enjoyed the ancient tradition of driving away evil spirits during Duanwu.

If the garden party brought joy, then the “Charitable Birthday Gift” segment moved everyone. In this event, Longan Guangzhou’s Comprehensive Service Center and the Public Welfare Committee, along with the Women’s Volunteer Promotion Association in Dagang Town, Nansha District, and Qihui School in Nansha District, prepared a special gift for the birthday people in the second quarter—hand-drawn mugs. The designs on the mugs were created by special children from Qihui School. At the same time, Longan Guangzhou gave the children some stationery as a return gift. This mutual kindness not only warmed each other but also inspired more people to spread love.

Then, the birthday people in the second quarter introduced themselves and shared their joy and thoughts. As everyone sang together, the birthday cake was presented slowly, with candlelight illuminating each smile. Cutting the cake and eating it, sweetness spread between the lips and hearts. At the end of the event, lawyer Deng Wenqi selected three lucky people and gave them mysterious gifts, keeping the joy going until the last moment.
