In March, when the spring breeze is gentle and everything comes back to life, I have a special day. On Friday, March 1, 2024, as night fell slowly and the stars mingled with city lights, the lawyers from our Party Branch gathered at a cinema to participate in a meaningful Party Day activity—“Upholding Legal Beliefs, Remaining True to the Original Aspirations of Lawyers”.
This was not just a collective event, but also a spiritual experience, a cleansing of professional beliefs. We chose a film related to our profession—The 20th Law. Based on real legal cases, this film tells a touching story of upholding justice and pursuing truth on the path of the rule of law.
The film focuses on Article 20 of the Criminal Law of the People’s Republic of China regarding justifiable defense. Through a comedic approach, the film conveys the message that “The law cannot compromise on justice.” It encourages people to act bravely for justice, to trust the law and the rule of law.
During the viewing, we were deeply moved. Every scene and every line of dialogue resonated with us. For example, Prosecutor Lü Lingling said, “We are not dealing with cases, but with people’s lives.” This sentence has become a light in our lawyers’ hearts, illuminating our legal beliefs and keeping our original aspirations and mission alive.
At the end of the film, many lawyers were still immersed in it, with tears in their eyes. Perhaps it wasn’t just the story of the film, but also reflections on the professional spirit of legal professionals.

This activity not only strengthened the professional spirit of our lawyers, but also united our team. It enhanced our cohesion and influence. We will work together to move forward on the path of the rule of law, striving for a just society and the great dream of the law.
