Recently, Wu Rangjun, a senior partner at Longan Guangzhou and director of the Longan Bay Area Intellectual Property Research Center, and Hao Hao, a senior partner at Longan Guangzhou and deputy director of the Longan Bay Area Integrated Law, Finance, and Taxation Research Center, were invited to participate in the “Promoting the Law and Jointly Driving the Economy” legal education event for private enterprises, and served as sharing guests. This event was organized under the guidance of the Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce. Nearly 30 people from multiple entities such as the Guangzhou Game Industry Association, Guangzhou Information Association, Xinghui Company, Junhai Network, Shenlan Interactive, and Quxuan Network attended the event.

Lawyer Hao Hao shared on the topic of “Viewing the ‘Promotion of Private Economy Law’ from a Legal Practice Perspective”. First, Lawyer Hao gave a brief introduction to the newly enacted “Promotion of Private Economy Law of the People’s Republic of China”, and analyzed the text structure and key provisions. Starting from the real problems and difficulties faced by the healthy development of the private economy, he explained the background of the law’s enactment. Following the specific chapters of the “Promotion of Private Economy Law”, as a fundamental law for the development of the private economy, this law brought a decisive political effect through the reform of national departments, adhering to “two healths and two unwavering efforts”. From specific provisions, Lawyer Hao analyzed that the enactment of this law brought many benefits to the technological innovation and standardized operation of the private economy. Lawyer Hao believed that the term “private economy” is not a strict legal concept, but its significant policy significance is undeniable. The high expectations of society for the new law reflect the psychology and public sentiment of a specific period, and the enactment of the “Promotion of Private Economy Law” is a milestone event.

Lawyer Wu Rangjun shared on the topic of “Protection and Compliance Management of Corporate Trade Secrets”. Against the backdrop of the “Month of Service for Improving the Protection of Corporate Trade Secrets” organized by the Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce, Lawyer Wu focused on related themes. First, Lawyer Wu said that through extensive case research and analysis, the main reasons for the leakage of corporate trade secrets were related to employees’ resignation and employment. He introduced practical cases such as “game art resource design parameters” and “unpublished skin designs” to show that similar issues of trade secret leakage are common in the industry, and enterprises should pay great attention to them. Lawyer Wu broke down the definitions related to trade secrets, explained what trade secrets are and the key points for determining them. The special nature of trade secrets leads to different individual determinations and uncertain rights scopes. Since most of the participating entities were game companies in Guangzhou, Lawyer Wu explained various types of trade secrets of game companies, including computer software, user data, operational data, game skins, and rules and regulations. Finally, Lawyer Wu presented a complete compliance management plan for trade secrets, focusing on personnel management, material management, and venue management, to comprehensively protect corporate trade secrets, providing valuable insights for the participants.
This event was the third in a series of legal education events for private enterprises. The aim was to help the game and IT industries understand policy trends, improve their protection capabilities for trade secrets, and deepen their understanding and application of the “Promotion of Private Economy Law”. This event focused on legal risks in the game and IT industries, discussed strategies for protecting trade secrets, explained the positive significance of the “Promotion of Private Economy Law” for industry development, provided compliance guidelines and practical advice for enterprises, and promoted the high-quality development of Guangzhou’s game and IT industries on a legal basis.
