On the afternoon of September 5, the “Guangdong-Hong Kong Commercial Arbitration Exchange – Hong Kong Simulated Arbitration Tribunal” event of the 2025 China Arbitration Week in Guangzhou was successfully held in the academic report hall of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission. Lawyer Dai Keying from Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm was invited to attend the event and participated in the full-English simulation of the Hong Kong arbitration tribunal.

This event was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Arbitration Center of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the South China Branch of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, and the Legal Professional Committee for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Free Trade Zone of the Guangzhou Lawyers Association. Jin Xi, Deputy Secretary-General of the South China Branch of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, and Hu Huailiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, delivered opening speeches. District Jintao, legal advisor of the Hong Kong Arbitration Center of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, and Yuan Fang, Deputy Director of the Arbitration Secretariat of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, gave keynote speeches respectively.

At this event, Lawyer Dai Keying, a lawyer from Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm, a rising talent in foreign-related law in Guangdong Province, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Legal Professional Committee for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Free Trade Zone of the Guangzhou Lawyers Association, was invited to attend. She cooperated fully with Hong Kong Barristers and Guangzhou lawyers to simulate the arbitration tribunal of the Hong Kong Arbitration Center of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission in full English.

The simulated arbitration tribunal engaged in lively discussions regarding the jurisdiction of “either arbitration or trial clauses” in Hong Kong arbitration tribunals and the interim measures system. It presented the actual situation of Hong Kong arbitration tribunals to lawyers in the Greater Bay Area, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of Hong Kong arbitration procedures.

As one of the series of events of the China Arbitration Week, this full-English simulation of the Hong Kong arbitration tribunal enhanced participants’ understanding of Hong Kong arbitration procedures and provided valuable experience for arbitration business in the Greater Bay Area. Hundreds of lawyers from the Greater Bay Area also participated in this event, promoting exchanges among arbitration legal professionals in the region.
