On April 13, 2024, at the invitation of NIO Car, lawyers Zeng Yue and Cai Mengfei from Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm in Beijing attended the NIO Radio 2024 “Annual Voice Creators Conference”. They shared relevant knowledge regarding compliance and copyright issues related to using AIGC in creative work with many creators present at the conference.

The Voice Creators Conference was held by NIO Car at Panyu Chimelong International Convention Center. Many well-known creators from various parts of the country who participated in NIO Radio programs were invited to attend the conference. During the conference, the two lawyers discussed the trend of creators increasingly using AIGC tools for video, audio, and image creation. They also explained the compliance requirements that need to be considered when using AIGC for creation, as well as issues related to the copyright of the works created.

During the AI roundtable discussion at the conference, Lawyer Zeng Yue briefly explained the compliance requirements related to the handling of sensitive personal information such as faces and voices when using AIGC tools for image and audio creation. This helped creators better understand the legal risks and compliance issues related to using faces and voices in their work. Regarding the copyright issues related to using AIGC tools for creation, Lawyer Zeng Yue explained the current judicial practices regarding whether works created using AI tools are protected by copyright law, using recent cases as examples. Finally, Lawyer Zeng Yue provided practical advice to help creators better understand the importance of using legal protections for their work.

During the impromptu voice creation session at the conference, Lawyer Cai Mengfei, who is also a content creator, participated in the impromptu creation with the creators. She had more in-depth discussions with the creators, integrating copyright protection principles into the impromptu creation process. This helped creators better understand relevant laws and regulations regarding intellectual property rights.

Lawyer Cai Mengfei She holds a master’s degree in procedural law from Renmin University of China and has many years of legal work experience. She has served several large companies.
