Recently, the inauguration ceremony of the Macau Innovation and Development Think Tank’s Foreign-related Rule of Law Research and Practice Base, as well as the first session of the “Longan Masters Forum,” was successfully held at the Beijing Longan (Zhongshan) Law Firm. Lawyers Ou Yingshi and Pan Yetong, partners at the Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm, were invited to attend this event. They gathered with experts and professionals from the legal community, overseas Chinese community, and practical experts in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to discuss the innovative development of foreign-related rule of law and promote coordinated legal services in the bay area.
At the beginning of the event, the guests visited the office environment of the Longan Zhongshan Law Firm, gaining a deeper understanding of its achievements in legal culture construction, cross-border legal services, and the protection of the rights of overseas Chinese. They also expressed high recognition for Longan’s professional approach and responsibilities in providing legal services in the Greater Bay Area.
During the speech segment, Xue Jiabing, director of the Longan Zhongshan Management Committee, welcomed the guests on behalf of the Zhongshan Law Firm. He pointed out that Zhongshan and Macau are geographically close and share similar cultural traits. With the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the need for cross-border legal services is increasing. The inauguration of this base aims to meet the needs of cross-border civil and commercial rule of law, and to promote deep cooperation in various fields through legal ties.
Under the witness of all the guests, Wang Yu, a member of the Macau Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhou Yipeng, a member of the Party Committee and Secretary-General of the Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Federation, Yang Cuifei, a fourth-level researcher at the Zhongshan Justice Bureau, and Xue Jiabing, director of the Longan Zhongshan Management Committee, inaugurated the Macau Innovation and Development Think Tank’s Foreign-related Rule of Law Research and Practice Base.
Professor Wang Yu presented ancient legal texts to the base, passing on the spirit of rule of law. Director Xue Jiabing awarded him an expert advisor certificate, strengthening the professional support of the think tank.
As the first speaker in the “Longan Masters Forum,” Professor Wang Yu shared in-depth insights on the legal path of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, covering the legal nature, practical challenges, legal basis, and implementation strategies. This provided authoritative academic guidance for the development of rule of law in the bay area.
The guests then engaged in practical discussions on key issues such as legal services for overseas Chinese, cross-border dispute resolution, and coordinated rule of law between Guangdong and Macau.
In the afternoon, colleagues from the Longan Zhongshan and Longan Guangzhou offices accompanied the Macau Innovation and Development Think Tank and the Haojiang Law Society, visiting the Zhongshan Institute of Science and Technology and the Sun Wen West Pedestrian Street in Zhongshan.
During this event, lawyers Ou Yingshi and Pan Yetong shared their practical experiences in cross-border commercial affairs, foreign-related dispute resolution, and corporate compliance in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. They exchanged ideas and shared practical experiences with colleagues from Longan Zhongshan and other regions, offering suggestions for cross-border rule of law cooperation between Guangdong and Macau.
This event represents an important example of collaboration among various branches of the Longan system in serving the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In the future, the Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm will continue to rely on Longan’s global service network to deepen cooperation with the Macau Innovation and Development Think Tank, Longan Zhongshan, and colleagues in the bay area. It will focus on research in foreign-related rule of law and the improvement of cross-border legal services, aiming to create a high-level service center for foreign-related rule of law in the bay area and contribute to the integrated development of the bay area and the protection of the rights of cross-border entities.
