Recently, Jin Li, a senior partner at Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm, obtained a license to practice as a foreign lawyer in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, becoming a new member of the Lao Lawyers Association. The acquisition of this license helps to work more effectively with local Lao lawyers to provide professional and efficient legal services to Chinese and foreign investors in Laos.

License to Practice as a Lao Foreign Lawyer

In June 2023, in response to the needs of international business, Lawyer Jin Li established Laos GuoZhi Law Firm Sole Co.,Ltd (hereinafter “Laos Office”) in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, with the approval of the Lao Ministry of Justice. The professional team of the Laos Office consists of experienced Lao lawyers and Chinese lawyers familiar with Lao law, focusing on providing legal support for Chinese investment enterprises under the “Belt and Road” initiative. Their main areas of service include cross-border investment and mergers & acquisitions, minerals and energy, real estate and construction projects, international trade and logistics, project financing, cross-border intellectual property protection, cross-border e-commerce, and corporate compliance.
