On August 7, 2025, in order to further promote the sharing and discussion of excellent cases within the law firm, Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm in Beijing specially invited Lawyer Liu Huan, a senior partner at Longan Guangzhou, and Lawyer Cai Mengfei, a rising talent in foreign-related lawyers in Guangdong Province, to give a special presentation on brand protection cases where they have obtained high compensation from the industry.
The event was themed “IP Special Topic 0 Record: Let’s See the Perfect Integration of Legal Expertise and Brand Building”. It focused on practical skills for high compensation in intellectual property rights, and the specific paths to building an IP from scratch, addressing legal practical issues. Nearly 300 lawyers and business professionals from online and offline sources participated actively. This event was hosted by Lawyer Cai Mengfei from Longan Guangzhou.

Lawyer Liu Huan gave a presentation on the theme “Thirty-Six Strategies for High Compensation in Intellectual Property Rights — Starting from Practical Cases”. She first introduced several recent high-compensation intellectual property protection cases, and analyzed the relevant legal provisions regarding patents, trademarks, copyrights, and unfair competition. Based on these laws and regulations, she outlined seven ways to calculate compensation. Then, regarding how to increase the amount of compensation in intellectual property cases, Lawyer Liu Huan shared the “Thirty-Six Strategies” from six aspects: rights, infringement, profit, subjective aspects, litigation strategy, and procedural strategies.

Rising talent in foreign-related lawyers in Guangdong Province
Lawyer Cai Mengfei focused on the theme “How to Build an IP from Scratch — The Perfect Integration of ‘Tricks’ and Honesty”. Starting from several typical failed cases, she pointed out five key points that IP lawyers should pay attention to when meeting clients, including accurately understanding client needs, building a trustful relationship, conducting professional research, clarifying cooperation directions, and promoting the implementation of services.
Then, combining her experience in handling a case involving a well-known real estate development company in Guangzhou and a local state-owned enterprise in Foshan regarding trademark rights and unfair competition, Lawyer Cai shared practical experiences such as how to reach a consensus on services, how to create a professional and considerate service environment, and how to communicate and provide feedback after the case is resolved.
Finally, Lawyer Cai engaged in in-depth discussions with the guests present on how to deeply understand client needs and how IP lawyers can better provide professional value and services.
