Recently, the Fourth Meeting of the Second Session of the Guangzhou Assets Management Association and the Bay Area Special Assets Management Experience Exchange Conference was held grandly at Yide Center in Guangzhou. During the awarding ceremony of the conference, Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm was awarded the “Outstanding Member of Guangzhou Assets Management Association 2025” honorary plaque. Lawyer Zhou Junwei, a senior partner of Longan Guangzhou and the deputy director of the Bankruptcy Liquidation Committee of the Guangdong Lawyers Association, attended the conference on behalf of the law firm. During the roundtable forum, he expressed his professional views on “Practical Approaches to the Disposal and Revitalization of Non-performing Assets and Corporate Restructuring”.

This conference was organized by the Guangzhou Assets Management Association, jointly by the Guangzhou Association of New Social Strata, and supported by Guangzhou Desai Asset Management Group. Yu Wei, deputy director of the Financial Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and deputy director of the Local Financial Management Bureau, and Zeng Chunqing, full-time vice president of the Guangzhou Federation of Industry and Commerce, attended the conference and gave speeches. Approximately 180 people, including leaders from the United Front Work Department of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, the Guangzhou Association of New Social Strata, the Bay Area Special Assets Empowerment Service Platform, and the Guangzhou Assets Management Association, as well as representatives of member units, experts and scholars in special asset management, attended the conference.

The roundtable forum was hosted by Liu Hongli, a member of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, president of the Guangzhou High-end Service Industry Development Promotion Association, and co-founder of Desai Asset Management Group. Lawyer Zhou Junwei, deputy director of the Bankruptcy Liquidation Committee of the Guangdong Lawyers Association and senior partner of Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm, along with six other roundtable guests, discussed the theme of “Practical Approaches to the Disposal and Revitalization of Non-performing Assets and Corporate Restructuring”. They shared their legal insights on how industrial capital can choose projects in distress for restructuring, and how professional institutions can facilitate the restructuring of enterprises in distress, mitigate financial risks, and help industries recover.

Roundtable forum

The fact that Longan Guangzhou was awarded the “Outstanding Member of Guangzhou Assets Management Association 2025” means that the law firm’s professional capabilities in asset management, bankruptcy liquidation, and special asset disposal have once again been highly recognized in the industry. By participating in the roundtable forum and industry exchanges, Longan Guangzhou has further strengthened its professional influence in core areas such as non-performing asset disposal and corporate restructuring. In the future, Longan Guangzhou will further strengthen its team of skilled lawyers in non-performing asset management, deeply participate in the construction of the Bay Area special assets ecosystem, and contribute to the revitalization of non-performing assets and industrial recovery, thereby helping to promote high-quality economic development in the Bay Area.

About the organization

The Guangzhou Assets Management Association was officially established in 2018, jointly led by Desai Asset Management Group and other relevant parties. It is the first association for non-performing asset management in China. Its purpose is to improve the self-regulatory level of the non-performing asset management industry in the Pearl River Delta and South China, enhance interaction and exchange among practitioners, promote resource integration and mutual development among upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry, and ensure the healthy development of the non-performing asset management industry in Guangzhou.

With the support of relevant authorities and functional departments, and through the joint efforts of all members of the association, the Guangzhou Assets Management Association has developed rapidly, its influence has expanded, and its scope of services for members has become broader. In accordance with the requests of the member units, and after approval by the higher-level authorities, the association was renamed from “Guangzhou Non-performing Asset Management Association” to “Guangzhou Assets Management Association” on September 14, 2020. Since 2020, the association has been rated as “Guangdong Four-High Chamber of Commerce” and “Guangzhou Four-High Chamber of Commerce” for three consecutive years.
