Disruptive AI technologies are driving a revolution in the efficiency of legal services and their accessibility to all, promoting the industry structure to evolve toward “intelligence + professionalism”. This leads to lawyers transforming into strategic advisors and providers of innovative solutions.

In this context, Longan Law Firm, in collaboration with WELEGAL Law Alliance and other organizations aiming to explore the prospects of “AI + Law”, hosts the 2025 “Longan Cup” National AI Legal AI Agent Competition.

I. Competition Objectives

  1. Promoting Industry Innovation

Encourage participants to use AI technologies to solve practical problems in the legal industry, such as the difficulties in contract review and low efficiency in legal search, so as to develop innovative legal AI agents and inject new vitality into the industry’s development.

  1. Identifying Excellent Projects

Through the competition platform, potential AI legal AI agents, lawyer teams and individuals will be identified and given opportunities to showcase their work, facilitating the implementation of high-quality projects and supporting the development of the legal technology industry.

  1. Strengthening Cooperation and Exchange

Gather professionals in the legal field, technical experts and investment institutions from different fields to promote cross-field cooperation and exchange, achieve knowledge integration, and jointly promote the deep integration of AI and law.

V. Participation Requirements

Participation Criteria

  1. Participants: Lawyers, legal staff, law students, etc. from across the country. Team formations across different fields are encouraged. Team members should possess legal professional knowledge, technical development capabilities (such as programming, algorithm design), and market operation thinking.

  2. Participating works: Should focus on the application of AI in the legal field. It can include but is not limited to AI agents, intelligent contract review, automatic generation of legal documents, intelligent legal search assistants, intelligent legal consulting services, workflow automation, etc. The product should have clear application scenarios and practical business value, showing a complete product design and implementation path, and being original works that have not won awards or been publicly released in other competitions.

  1. Requirements for submitting preliminary round works:

a. File format requirements

  • Required: PDF

  • Optional: Video (.mp4 format, no more than 30 minutes, 1080P resolution)

  • Optional: Code platform experience link or web display, etc.

  • AI products can be selected by participants themselves.

b. Requirements for screenshots and annotations

  • Screenshots: Complete screenshots of all processes of AI dialogue and Q&A (or pictures generated by AI products can be shared). From the start of a new dialogue to the end of Q&A, direct text copying is not allowed, content cannot be modified or altered, and no partial extraction for stitching is allowed. The previous screenshot needs to retain some content (for overlapping verification) and connect with the next screenshot so that it can be seen as continuous screenshots.

  • Annotations: Annotations should be added to each screenshot, and a summary of no more than 200 words can be given for each picture, adding the content that the picture wants to express or explain. The first character of the picture should not be empty.

c. Format requirements for titles and signatures

  • Title: “2025 ‘Longan Cup’ National AI Legal AI Agent Competition Works”, centered, in Song typeface bold or Black Serif small size 2

  • Signature: Author’s name below the title, in Kaishu size 5, centered.

d. Format requirements for the text

The text in the main body is in size 4, first-level and second-level titles (if any) are in Black Serif, other text is in Song typeface, line spacing is 1.5, and no line spacing before and after paragraphs is required.

Evaluation Criteria

  1. Proficiency: Evaluate the level of application of AI technologies in products (referring to the AI agents, workflows, application installation packages or other forms of AI application tools developed by participants), select AI tools according to actual business needs, encourage participants to comprehensively use various AI tools, low-code tools and code tools as needed, and assess the understanding and usage level of the tools.

  2. Practicality: Focus on the ability of the product to solve actual legal business problems, whether it can effectively improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance service quality or even obtain more business opportunities, assess the fit between product functions and legal business processes, as well as operability and user experience in real scenarios.

  3. Innovation: Determine whether the product has unique creativity in concept, design and technical implementation, whether it breaks traditional legal business models or existing technical frameworks, and brings new ideas and solutions to the industry. Participants are encouraged to develop AI agents or workflows with high originality, avoiding copying ideas from existing tutorials.

  4. Commercial value: Analyze the market potential of the product, including the size of the target customer group, market demand intensity, competitive advantages, etc., as well as whether it has a feasible business model and profit expectations. Consider whether the participating work has been verified through pilot cases, whether it has standardized services or tiered pricing models.

  5. Generalizability: Evaluate whether it can quickly adapt to legal business needs in different regions and fields, while considering implementation costs and migration difficulties.

  6. Compliance and Security: Ensure legal compliance of technology application and data processing, not violating mandatory legal regulations, and complying with laws and regulations regarding data and intellectual property rights, as well as relevant technology ethics regulations.
