In order to deepen the integration of legal theory and practice and support the development of foreign-related legal talents, the Vis Pre-moot of the 33rd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition was successfully held in Guangzhou from March 5 to 6, 2026. This competition attracted many top universities in South China, including the School of International Law at Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University, South China University of Technology, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, South China Normal University, and Shenzhen University. Lawyers Yang Lun, Cai Mengfei, and Ou Yingshi from Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm were invited to serve as arbitrators in this debate competition. They used their professional expertise to ensure fairness and justice in the competition and provided valuable guidance to the participants.

After two days of intense competition, the International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition came to a successful conclusion. About the Competition

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition is the only moot competition organized by United Nations agencies worldwide. It is one of the largest and oldest moot competitions in the world. Since 1994, it has been held every spring in Vienna, Austria, with approximately 300 teams from universities around the world participating each year. Since 2003, the Vis East Moot has been held in Hong Kong, making it the highest-level competition for the Vis Moot in the Eastern Hemisphere. In addition to the Vis Moot and Vis East Moot, the Vis Moot Organizing Committee holds pre-competition competitions around the world to enhance the experience of participating teams and improve the overall quality of the competition. This competition is one of the three pre-competition competitions for the 33rd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition in mainland China. It has a great impact in the field of commercial arbitration and academia.

About the Lawyers

Lawyer Yang Lun

Lawyer Yang Lun is a lawyer at Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm in Beijing. He graduated from the School of Law at Sun Yat-sen University and the School of Law at Vanderbilt University in the United States.
