The “Wealth Management and Inheritance Dialogue Series (II): The Practice and Application of Trusts and Legal Applications” event organized by the Longan Guangzhou Wealth Management and Inheritance Research Center has inspired lawyers from within and outside the firm to engage in discussions on related topics. On May 7th, the Longan Bay Area Legal, Finance, and Taxation Integration Research Center held a special event titled “Wealth Management and Inheritance Dialogue Series (II): The Practice and Application of Trusts and Legal Applications”. This event invited various guests to further discuss and exchange ideas regarding wealth management and inheritance.
The event was presented by Li Dingbang, Deputy Director of the Longan Bay Area Legal, Finance, and Taxation Integration Research Center and Deputy Head of the Longan Guangzhou Family Affairs Department, Ms. Jiang Yuting, Head of the Huarun Trust Wealth Management Guangzhou Department, and Ms. Luo Yizhi, Chief Charitable Advisor of the Hanzheng Family Office. In addition to the participants from within Longan Guangzhou, some partners and experts such as Cui Dong, Director of the Central-South Notary Office, were also invited to participate in the discussions. Together, they sought to develop new approaches for wealth management for entrepreneurs in the new era and provide legal solutions.

Li Dingbang, Deputy Director of the Longan Bay Area Legal, Finance, and Taxation Integration Research Center and Deputy Head of the Longan Guangzhou Family Affairs Department, presented a talk titled “Current Legal Applications of Trusts and Analysis of Difficult Issues”. He started with three classic cases to analyze trusts. First, he discussed the Zhanglan Trust case, analyzing how trusts were implemented in that case. Then, he covered the Wuhan extramarital trust enforcement case, explaining its background, handling process, and legal outcomes, as well as the legal situation in foreign countries regarding trust enforcement. For the third case, Li Dingbang used the first will trust case and a comparative case to analyze the legal applications and current legal status of will trusts. Finally, from a cross-border service perspective, he discussed foreign grantor trusts, highlighting their importance in wealth management and inheritance.

Chief Charitable Advisor of the Hanzheng Family Office
Ms. Luo Yizhi, Chief Charitable Advisor of the Hanzheng Family Office, presented a talk titled “Exploration of Charitable Trusts in China”. She started with her own experience in charitable work, introducing the concept and system of charitable trusts, and explaining the basic structure and logic of charitable trusts. She also analyzed the differences and similarities between charitable trusts and property trusts from multiple perspectives. Then, she discussed the current situation and future prospects of charitable trusts across the country, using some real cases to show their role in education, community development, scientific research, and intellectual property. Finally, she emphasized the importance of charitable trusts as tools for charity and wealth management.
After that, Lawyer Chen Banliang, Director of the Longan Bay Area Legal, Finance, and Taxation Integration Research Center, presented a certificate of appointment as a senior advisor of the Longan Bay Area Legal, Finance, and Taxation Integration Research Center to Ms. Jiang Yuting.

Ms. Jiang Yuting, Head of the Huarun Trust Wealth Management Guangzhou Department, pointed out the significant impact of trust tools under current policies. She analyzed the development and current status of the trust industry based on past regulatory changes. Then, from the perspectives of regulatory systems and risk control, she discussed how trusts can develop scientifically in three areas: asset management, asset services, and charitable activities. Using her own experience in wealth management, she highlighted the positive role of trusts in wealth management and inheritance.
LONGAN
The event was conducted in the form of thematic presentations. The three guests discussed and shared ideas related to trusts, focusing on wealth management. They provided professional analysis on how trusts can better serve wealth management in today’s context.
