On July 23, the Party Branch of Beijing Longan (Guangzhou) Law Firm successfully held the “Remembering Our Original Aspiration as Lawyers, Upholding the Mission of Rule of Law” special lecture and Party-member lawyer story sharing event. Party-member lawyers gathered together, tempering their loyalty through the special lecture and revisiting their original commitment to the rule of law through story sharing, further consolidating the strength to advance and practicing the duties and missions of legal workers in the new era with the responsibility of the rule of law.
Secretary’s Lecture
At the beginning of the event, Lawyer Ye Peng, Secretary of the Party Branch of Longan Guangzhou, delivered a special lecture. Focusing on the theme “Drawing Strength to Advance, Staying True to the Original Aspiration of Rule of Law,” Secretary Ye led the attending Party-member lawyers in a deep study of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, reviewing the four historic achievements of the century-long struggle and the six distinctive traits of the century-old Party. Secretary Ye pointed out that these six traits serve as guiding principles for Party-member lawyers in their practice. Legal services have both political and professional attributes; only by persisting in regular theoretical study can lawyers find the right direction and maintain the correct stance in handling various cases and legal advisory matters.
During the lecture, Secretary Ye also conducted an in-depth analysis of the original aspiration and mission of Party members in the context of the firm’s practice. He proposed that all Party-member lawyers must clarify three core issues: for whom they handle cases, on what basis they practice, and what larger picture they serve. He also put forward four practical requirements based on their positions, calling on everyone to stay loyal, serve the people with dedication, hone professional skills, and strictly adhere to professional ethics, striving to be Party-member lawyers trusted by the masses and assured by the organization.
Lawyer Story Sharing Session
In the story sharing session, Lawyer Zhou Junwei drew on his years of experience in the legal service industry to share his core insights and growth reflections as a Party-member lawyer. He emphasized that Party-member lawyers should always focus on shaping professional competence and personal demeanor, maintain a professional and rigorous attitude, establish a good professional image, and build a solid foundation of public trust. In handling cases, they should uphold an objective and fair attitude, rationally analyze case situations, and accurately grasp legal facts. Subsequently, Lawyer Ke Cheng shared his insights based on his career path. He reviewed his transition from a university teacher and corporate legal manager to a practicing lawyer, discussing the experience gained from different roles. Lawyer Ke mentioned that the foundation of legal services lies in trust; in daily work, lawyers should actively strengthen communication and coordination with clients, winning their full trust through meticulous and rigorous service. He also pointed out that lifelong learning is a mandatory course for lawyers. In handling cases, they need to continuously review, summarize, and accumulate experience, constantly polishing their professional expertise, and fulfilling the duty of serving the people as Party-member lawyers with solid and comprehensive capabilities.
Lawyer Luo Jie, focusing on the core of party building leading professional development, shared his insights based on years of experience in criminal defense. Through real and touching case examples, Lawyer Luo pointed out that every case handled by a lawyer is a major matter concerning the rights, life, and family of the parties involved, and must never be treated with a perfunctory attitude. He stated that Party-member lawyers must especially adhere to the rigorous original aspiration, uphold professional ethics and standards, treat every client with care, and handle every case cautiously, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the masses with professional ability, and practicing the original aspiration and responsibility of serving the people through the rule of law with concrete actions.
