Ge Xiangrong, the deputy director of the Longan Guangzhou Management Committee and senior partner, delivered a speech at the event and shared guidelines on lawyer professional ethics. Ms. Liang Yuzhen, the deputy director of the Management Committee and head of the Comprehensive Service Center, and Mr. Huang Weidong, the finance director of Longan Guangzhou, respectively gave presentations on the functions of the firm and the Comprehensive Service Center, as well as on financial policies. The event was hosted by Yang Lun, a new member, who helped the new colleagues break the ice with sweet treats and knowledge.

Before the event started, there were some “food tips”. The Comprehensive Service Center prepared a variety of delicious afternoon tea for the new members. There were freshly cut fruits, Western-style snacks, cold dishes, and beverages in various flavors for them to choose from.

Lawyer risks mainly include criminal liability risks, civil liability risks, administrative penalty risks, and industry disciplinary risks. Next, Lawyer Ge explained common violations in detail based on relevant laws and regulations. Starting with typical industry disciplinary cases, he shared the basic points for handling complaints and investigations. Finally, he discussed legal and regulatory provisions on conflicts of interest, pre-audit systems, specific conflict situations, conflict of interest handling principles, conflict of interest exemption clauses, and conflict of interest hearing rules. He suggested avoiding all forms of private cases, private fees, and no invoicing. It is important to study relevant laws and industry regulations, base on the law, improve professional skills, and enhance professional ethics.

Ms. Liang Yuzhen briefly introduced the basic situation of Longan Head Office in terms of size, branch institutions, and honors. He first explained the conditions, methods, and time of financial expense settlement. Then, he explained the Longan reimbursement system in terms of general principles for expense reimbursement, submission time, and general principles. He also briefly shared some key points of tax risk management under new tax regulations.
