On March 8, 2024, on the 114th International Women’s Day, the Women Lawyers’ Department of Longan Guangzhou held a special event on “Women’s Protection”. This event focused on the rights and interests of women, and featured a series of thematic presentations. Chen Qiaodan, a senior partner of Longan Guangzhou and head of the Marriage and Family Affairs Department, Lawyer Hao Hao, a senior partner of Longan Guangzhou and founder of the Dishi Team, Lawyer Li Dingbang, deputy head of the Marriage and Family Affairs Department of Longan Guangzhou and member of the Dishi Team, Lawyer Dai Wenjun, a senior advisor of the Dishi Team, all presented their insights, helping women enhance their legal awareness and ability to protect their rights according to law.

The event was hosted by Lawyer Wang Huixia, a senior partner of Longan Guangzhou and head of the Women Lawyers’ Department. Lawyer Wang mentioned that with the continuous progress of society, women’s status has improved in various fields. They have made outstanding contributions to society with their unique charm and wisdom. On this special day of International Women’s Day, which commemorates women’s rights and equality, the law firm specially organized a “Special Protection for Women” event. This event invited outstanding lawyers from the Marriage and Family Affairs Department of Longan Guangzhou and the Dishi Team. They prepared four thematic lectures, covering topics such as “surrogacy”, “personal wealth protection”, “tax issues in marriage”, and “bigamy”. The aim was to deepen the understanding and protection of women’s rights.

Lawyer Li Dingbang presented a lecture titled “Random Talk on Surrogacy”. He started by defining and explaining the types and reasons for surrogacy, then analyzed the social problems associated with it. He also pointed out the ethical and human rights issues related to surrogacy, and discussed these issues from a legal perspective. He used relevant laws and judicial cases in China to explain how the legal system deals with surrogacy. Then, he shared the attitudes and practices of countries and regions around the world regarding surrogacy. Finally, he concluded that women’s right to childbearing should be respected and protected from an ethical, legal, and academic perspective.

Lawyer Chen Qiaodan presented a lecture titled “Personal Wealth Protection”. She emphasized that protecting personal wealth in family relationships is equally important. She discussed various methods of protecting wealth, such as prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, wills, family trusts, and insurance. She explained how these methods can help protect wealth, ensure asset income, and avoid debt risks. She also discussed how to identify property transfers in marriage relationships, helping to protect women’s rights.

Advisor Dai Wenjun

Advisor Dai Wenjun presented a lecture titled “Tax Reports from the Bedroom”. He discussed three classic tax cases, emphasizing the importance of tax awareness, the necessity of tax tools, and the consequences of tax risks. He also discussed criminal aspects of tax violations, such as false invoices. He discussed tax risks between spouses from both administrative and criminal perspectives, and emphasized the need for a proper tax compliance system to avoid tax problems.

Lawyer Hao Hao presented a lecture titled “About ‘Bigamy’”. He started with traditional Chinese culture, explaining the history of bigamy. He then discussed the evolution of legal regulations related to bigamy. He also discussed the differences between civil and criminal proceedings related to bigamy. He discussed the standards and criteria for sentencing in bigamy. Finally, he discussed how to prove facts and evidence in cases of bigamy.
