It also provides legal students, academics, and professionals with practical opportunities and rich experience in international arbitration and trade law, all within an Asian context.

The Vis East Moot Competition is the sister competition to the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna. Given the continuous and rapid expansion of Asia’s economy, international commercial transactions and, inevitably, cross-border disputes in Asia have been on the rise. The Vis East Moot provides law students, academics, and professionals with a similar exposure to, and experience in, international arbitration and trade law as the Vis Moot in Vienna, but with an Asian context.

Lawyer Cai Mengfei

Lawyer Cai Mengfei holds a master’s degree in procedural law from Renmin University of China. She is one of the new talents in foreign-related law practice in Guangdong Province. She is currently a lawyer at Beijing Long’an (Guangzhou) Law Firm, working mainly from its Guangzhou office.

Lawyer Cai Mengfei has been practicing law for many years. She specializes in dispute resolution, intellectual property, international trade, and debt collection. She has extensive experience in resolving complex legal issues, especially in applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations.

Lawyer Cai has provided legal services to several large companies, foreign companies based in China, and Sino-foreign joint ventures. Her services cover various areas such as new consumption, new media, and construction engineering. She has successfully resolved domain name disputes, construction project settlements, and trademark protection issues. She has also helped clients with equity investment frameworks, providing comprehensive legal services. Her work has been widely recognized.

Lawyer Yang Lun graduated from the Law School of Sun Yat-sen University and the Law School of Vanderbilt University in the United States, earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree in law respectively. Since starting his practice, he has focused on providing legal services related to foreign-related companies, intellectual property, and cross-border dispute resolution. Yang Lun is currently one of the new talents in foreign-related law practice in Guangdong Province. He also serves as the deputy secretary-general of the Haizhu branch of the Guangzhou Oumeisuoshanghui association.

Lawyer Yang Lun has provided legal services to several well-known multinational companies, large state-owned enterprises, and private companies. His services include corporate foreign investment, labor relations, intellectual property protection, and data compliance. In terms of expanding into international markets, Yang Lun is a researcher at the Long’an Bay ASEAN Law Research Center. He has established a rich network of cooperation services in several major Asia-Pacific countries, including the United States, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, and Vietnam.
